Yoga in the Yucatan is a yoga vacation at Villas Shanti in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Enjoy morning and afternoon yoga classes in a spacious open-air palapa, a sumptuous brunch served daily, and a luxurious expanse of time and space.

Puerto Morelos is a small fishing village 25 miles south of Cancun, alive with markets, restaurants and shops, all within walking distance of Villas Shanti. Just across the road from Villas Shanti is the Puerto Morelos Beach and, not far from shore, a protected section of the Great Mesoamerican Reef known as Parque Nacional Arrecife.
You'll have the chance to explore the region with optional field trips, snorkeling expeditions and guided tours of Mayan cultural sites. At the start of our week, selected tour guides will come to Villas Shanti to describe an array of options. The time is yours to design as you choose.
Indulge in a week of thoroughly restoring and nourishing yourself.

Cost: $1525.00 includes seven nights at Villas Shanti (double occupancy), 13 yoga classes, a Welcoming Dinner, a Farewell Dinner and a bountiful brunch buffet each morning.
A $600 non-refundable deposit is due upon registering, with the balance due by February 1.

Who: Kara Douglas began practicing yoga in 1998 while working as a naturalist in California’s San Bernardino Mts. Incorporating her background in Biology and Environmental Science, she teaches with respect and reverence for the body, mind and nature. Kara’s training includes methodology from traditional systems of health as well as the Yin, Astanga and Kripalu Yoga lineages. She lives in Harpswell, Maine with her husband and two daughters.

Who: Ann Flannery was introduced to yoga in 1990, began her study as a yoga teacher in 2000 and completed her advanced teacher certification in 2005 at the Kripalu Yoga Center. Besides the Kripalu tradition, Ann’s continuing Yoga studies include the Iyengar tradition and Anusara methodology.
Ann’s passion for yoga springs from her background in sports as an athlete and coach, inspired by that feeling of exhileration and wholeness that is possible when the body, mind and heart are in union.
Ann and Kara look forward to welcoming you into the warmth of the Mexican sun. Their classes will be taught for all levels of Yoga experience, with modifications offered to meet individual needs.
